SPRINGFIELD, VA, October 23, 2017– Ken Morrissette, president, Interstate Service Group,  (MoveInterstate.com), a long-standing supporter and Board member of The Salvation Army National Capital Command, spearheaded Interstate Moving | Relocation | Logistics’ donation and installation of 47 sections of steel racking for the Salvation Army’s DC-Prince George’s warehouse located in Hyattsville, Maryland.

Seven Interstate employee volunteers [Steve Wilson, Armando Gomez, Josh Payne, John Davis, Richard Cunningham, Bill Rose and Mickey McCollum] delivered the flatbed shipment of the heavy duty racking system, along with a forklift for unloading, to the warehouse on September 20. The Interstate Team, alongside Ken Morrissette, power washed the warehouse floor and worked tirelessly for several days installing and securing the racks.  The warehouse is used for all of the National Capital Area Chapter’s programs, including the Angel Tree Giving program. For 15 years Interstate has played a big role in Angel Tree through its annual donation of dozens of trucks and drivers to pick up and transport toys collected by 50-plus local business sponsors to the Salvation Army’s warehouse.  “Working with the Salvation Army is very rewarding," says Ken. "Giving back to the community is what our company is all about."
